This entire magical world of ‘Agatha All Along’ spawned from Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch’s ‘WandaVision’, where the telekinetic and reality-warping Wanda and her enhanced android husband settled in the white-picket-fenced apparent idyll of Westview, trying to live an ordinary suburban life without giving their secrets away to their nosy neighbour, Agnes, who wasn’t what she appeared to be. Agnes aka Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, downplayed her witch aura for a majority portion in the series before unleashing her magic in the climax in the most enchanting manner. The solid side character soon became a breakout star and landed an MCU series of her own, exploring the tricks and trials of The Witches’ Road, which grants what one most desires (In Agatha’s case: Power).
A post shared by Marvel Studios (@marvelstudios) With Teen aka Billy (Wanda’s son) and her team of rejects, the series opened with Agatha embarking on the mystery Road. And each episode that fell between its premiere and finale, was pitch perfect, from script to delivery, to lighting, to cinematography, to its major revelations. Agatha All Along doled out its hints and clues about a deeper mystery and likely malevolence at work in tantalizingly spare fashion.
The iconic Billy retaining his true power to Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal being ‘Death’ confirmation, this MCU outing feels like watching a spicy mystery spun over a dozen episodes, as pennies half-drop and occasional dots jo.
