The Cats were defeated by Brisbane Lions last Saturday, denying them a place in this weekend's grand final, but have got their festivities under way in what has become an iconic post-season party among the footy community due to the players' creative outfits. Gryan Miers stole the show as football superstar Lionel Messi last year, and the players have taken it up a notch this year with hilarious costumes.
Tanner Bruhn impersonated Nine footy journalist Sam McClure and held a sign aloft which read: 'They won't pick him, Mitch.' Beside him was Mark Blicavs as West Coast's Harley Reid and Max Holmes as Mitch Cleary, with the sign a reference to McClure's bold call last year on his podcast with Cleary in which he claimed Reid would not be drafted by the Eagles. Reid in fact headed to the West and enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign with the club.
Holmes was later spotted 'interviewing' Tom Hawkins, who came dressed as Anthony Ammirati, the French pole vaulter who went viral at the Olympic Games after his manhood caught the bar as he looked to clear it. Jeremy Cameron imitated Russell C.
