Wednesday, August 21, 2024 Aer Lingus Regional, operated exclusively by Emerald Airlines , is set to enhance its service offerings at Glasgow Airport with the launch of a new route to Cork. Beginning 27 October, this new service will add over 30,000 seats to the network, providing more options for both leisure and business travelers. The announcement comes as a significant expansion of Aer Lingus Regional’s operations from Glasgow , where it already offers popular routes to Dublin and Belfast.

The new Glasgow-Cork route aims to cater to the growing demand for travel between Scotland and Ireland, offering competitive fares starting at £39.99. The route to Cork promises to be a valuable addition for passengers eager to explore Ireland’s southern charms.

Cork, known for its historic allure, vibrant arts scene, and rich culinary experiences, also serves as a gateway to Ireland’s scenic countryside and stunning coastal landscapes. This new connection is expected to bolster tourism and provide new business opportunities, linking Glasgow with one of Ireland’s most dynamic regions. Ian Lough, Head of Commercial at Emerald Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion.

“We’re delighted to extend our network from Glasgow Airport with the introduction of our new Cork service. This addition reflects our ongoing commitment to providing our customers with a wider array of travel options and enhanced convenience,” Lough stated. He highlighted that the move is in response to increasing demand and aims to offer passengers more flexibility when planning their trips.

The new service will operate with the frequency and reliability that passengers have come to expect from Aer Lingus Regional. It will complement the airline’s existing routes from Glasgow, which include up to four daily flights to Dublin and up to two daily flights to Belfast. By adding Cork to its network, Aer Lingus Regional aims to strengthen its position in the market and cater to a broader range of travel needs.

Chris Tibbett, Aero Director at AGS Airports, welcomed the new route enthusiastically. “We are thrilled to welcome the new Aer Lingus Regional service from Glasgow to Cork, further strengthening our connectivity with Ireland,” Tibbett said. He noted that the new service underscores AGS Airports’ commitment to offering diverse and convenient travel options.

“With over 30,000 seats available, we are confident this service will be a great success, benefiting both leisure and business travelers,” he added. The expansion is part of a broader strategy by Aer Lingus Regional and Emerald Airlines to enhance connectivity and provide more choice to travelers. As Glasgow Airport continues to grow as a key travel hub, the new Cork route represents an important step in broadening the airline’s network and meeting the evolving needs of passengers.

Travelers interested in booking flights on the new Glasgow-Cork route can do so through the Aer Lingus Regional website or at travel agencies. With the promise of competitive fares and the added convenience of more flight options, this new route is set to become a popular choice for those traveling between Scotland and Ireland..
