Wednesday, November 13, 2024 Aena Group airports achieved record growth in October 2024, handling 33.6M passengers, 283K flights, and 137K tonnes of freight, marking a significant surge. The Aena Group, encompassing 46 airports and two heliports in Spain, London Luton Airport in the UK, and 17 airports in Brazil, achieved remarkable growth in October 2024.

A total of 33,587,444 passengers were served, marking a 6.1% increase compared to the same month in 2023. Aircraft movements reached 283,592, a rise of 4.



9%, while freight volumes surged to 137,308 tonnes, a significant 22.7% increase year-on-year. For the year to date through October, Aena’s cumulative traffic figures reflect continued momentum, with 316,084,814 passengers handled—an 8.

6% increase over 2023. Aircraft movements totaled 2,724,088 (+7.1%), and freight shipments amounted to 1,166,645 tonnes, an impressive 19.

3% growth. In Spain, Aena’s 46 airports and two heliports welcomed 28,251,591 passengers in October, reflecting a 6.1% rise compared to October 2023.

Aircraft movements grew by 5.5% to 231,529, and freight volumes climbed to 124,166 tonnes, a 22.5% increase.

Notably, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport led in passenger traffic with 5,676,510 travelers, up 5.4% from last year. Other top-performing airports included: A total of 17 airports in Spain recorded their highest-ever October passenger numbers, including Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, and Palma de Mallorca.
