Saturday, October 5, 2024 Aegean Airlines S.A., Greece’s premier airline, has announced the launch of exciting new direct flights connecting Athens to Abu Dhabi.
Starting October 27, travelers can enjoy a seamless journey aboard the modern A320neo, with services scheduled three times a week. This expansion highlights Aegean Airlines’ status as Greece’s leading carrier in terms of passenger volume, destinations offered, and fleet size. Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (AIA), which commenced operations on March 28, 2001, stands as Greece’s busiest airport and serves as a pivotal hub for Aegean Airlines among other regional carriers.
This airport not only supports the vast network of flights for Aegean Airlines but also plays a crucial role in boosting connectivity for the Athens region and the broader area of Attica. Further enriching this new route, flights will arrive at Zayed International Airport, better known as Abu Dhabi International Airport. As the primary gateway to the UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi International Airport facilitates millions of travelers each year, enhancing the link between these two historic cities through Aegean Airlines’ new direct service.
This route addition is poised to foster increased cultural and economic exchanges between Greece and the United Arab Emirates..
