As a child, Deepak would sit in awe and watch his father work: "I still remember vividly, my father would tell me, after he had finished his batch of work, to find clippings of gold off-cuts within the carpet piles that were beneath his workstation; it was like a treasure hunt for six-year-old me. "The lasting memory that will always stay with me is when my father used to heat the gold into a molten form and then let it cool down before shaping it into a thin bar - this would be the beginning of him creating exquisite jewellery pieces from, what seemed at the time, out of thin air." He said: “Operating in the way some of our competitors do may have worked three decades ago, but since then the world and everyone within it have moved on. Equipped with the knowledge of handling the gold first-hand and seeing it perfected from a young age, Deepak has the ability to find and fix flaws others may not be able to. Not only that, he has a deep understanding of the industry's past and a vision of what it could be in the near future. In 2020, Deepak broadened his learning and created the concept of taking 22-carat jewellery online for a nationwide audience to appreciate and enjoy.
This was then followed up with accreditation and education to further develop the business, before welcoming the launch of the DBS website at the end of 2023. With limited tools and resources at his disposal, Deepak continued to hit huge milestones and is now partnered with two nationally recognised payment providers, Klarna and Clearpay, offering customers the chance to break down payments into more manageable, monthly, interest-free instalments*.
