For one evening only, experience a unique sunset walk where you'll come almost face-to-face with more than 70 of the most beautiful and rare species, including Amur leopards and tigers, giraffes, polar bears, and black rhinos. At Yorkshire Wildlife Park's Night Out at the Zoo sunset safari on August 17, guests can step into the African savanna and roam the lawns of Tsavo and the Amphitheatre Lawns. Starting at 4pm, enjoy vibrant live music and entertainment, along with a delicious barbecue inspired by African culture.

CEO John Minion said: "For one day only, visitors can enjoy the park from dusk till dark. "Summer is always special here at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, but the Night Out at the Zoo is a truly unique experience. "Our visitors can look forward to a really spectacular savanna sunset.

" This year, the park has welcomed several new animals, including two adorable baby cheetahs and a rhino. The two male cheetahs have just been released into the Cheetah Territory main reserve after being nurtured by their mother, Darcy, over the past three months. Their parents, Darcy and Brooke, were introduced as part of a European Breeding Programme, making this litter a significant triumph in the quest to preserve the species, with only an estimated 7,100 cheetahs remaining in the wild.

Another significant birth this year is Rocco, a baby eastern black rhino born in January after a 15-month pregnancy. Growing fast, he is now trotting confidently around the expansive rhino reserve. This rhino subspecies is critically endangered, with only about 1,000 believed to be alive in the wild.

Guests will also be able to welcome lioness Aysa and her cubs, Emi, Santa, and Teddi, who were rescued from war-torn Ukraine in March. The cubs were held in Poland, separated from their mother and with no natural light for nine months. They have now been reunited by the staff at YWP and are all living in the expansive reserves of Lion Country.

There are 10 distinct lands to explore at the 175-acre park, including the Himalayan Pass, Project Polar, and Into Africa. Rangers at the park, which puts conservation at the heart of all its activities, give talks allowing visitors to learn more about their animals and how to help in their conservation efforts. The park offers a range of indoor and outdoor play areas for children and a variety of eateries, including the Wild Cafe Bistro and the themed Evolution Restaurant.

Also this summer, there's the chance to see top pop acts Ella Henderson, JLS, and Jessie J at the Wild Live concert series. So whatever the weather, Yorkshire Wildlife Park offers a fun-filled and educational day out for all ages. For further information about Night Out at the Zoo and other events, visit the website .
