Jonathan Majors discussed childhood sexual abuse and its impact. In 2023, he was found guilty of assault and harassment, leading Marvel Studios to drop him from future MCU films. Hollywood actor Jonathan Majors has spoken for the first time since the infamous assault case against ex-girlfriend, British dancer Grace Jabbari.
He reflected on traumatic experiences from his childhood, stating that he had to deal with sexual abuse by both men and women from the age of 9. The actor further added how he had to navigate his way through his childhood trauma. The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania opened up about facing sexual abuse as a child.
He told The Hollywood Reporter, “I dealt with sexual abuse from both men and women from the time I was 9. From people who are supposed to look after you, in the absence of a father. I was f****d up.
" But it was only recently when he told his parents about it. While their response was that of despair, he reassured them that it’s now all in the past for him. “I’m like, ‘It’s not even an issue, mom.
I just want you to know. And now we can all get busy and continue to connect and grow and learn from it, because it’s something that was in our family," he said. Majors also added how he has determined to not let the shackles of the past grip him.
“There are no excuses, but by getting help, you begin to understand things about yourself," the actor shared, adding, “At some point there has to be accountability for writing your own story.".
