The picture showed the actor with a cigarette and tea in his hands, lounging with his inmates in jail. This picture sparked outrage as the public questioned the preferential treatment of certain prisoners over others.

Based on a preliminary inquiry, they have found seven officers involved in this, and they have been suspended. Now we are investigating the matter further. It’s a serious security lapse,” said Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwar.
The minister also added that there will be a further investigation into the case and that if any senior officer is involved, there will be strict action against them. This fiasco has landed the actor in further trouble as the Karnataka Police have filed three FIRs against Darshan for alleged violations in prison, including using a mobile phone and smoking.
