Jaipur/Kota: Anti-Corruption Bureau ( ACB ) on Wednesday unearthed assets disproportionate to known sources of income during searches at properties linked to IAS officer and Kota divisional commissioner Rajendra Vijay . The raids, conducted at several locations in Jaipur, Kota and Dausa, revealed documents related to the ownership of 13 residential and commercial plots, including a showroom in GT Galleria in Jaipur’s C-Scheme and a luxurious house on Tonk Road. As the raids progressed, the department of personnel (DoP) issued an order placing Vijay on awaiting posting orders (APO).
Vijay, who had assumed charge of Kota divisional commissioner on Sept 25, was relieved of his duties following ACB’s actions. According to Dr Ravi Prakash Meharda, director general of ACB, the agency received confidential information that Vijay had acquired several movable and immovable properties through corrupt means, both in his and his family members' names. These assets are estimated to be worth several crores of rupees and are disproportionate to his legitimate income, he said.
Meharda said, “It is estimated that Vijay has acquired several properties far beyond his legal income. Additionally, evidence of investments in benami (undisclosed) properties by Vijay and his family has been found, which will undergo a thorough investigation.” The confidential information was verified by the ACB's intelligence branch and an FIR was registered.
