Thursday, November 7, 2024 Acai Travel, a Barcelona-based software company founded in 2023, is making waves in the travel industry with its innovative approach to optimizing travel operations through artificial intelligence (AI). Recently, the company announced the completion of a €3.7 million Seed funding round led by Nauta, with significant contributions from DraperB1 and existing investor One Travel Ventures.
This fresh capital is set to fuel Acai Travel’s ambitious vision of creating an AI-powered operating system designed to address inefficiencies within the travel sector—an industry that has seen rapid changes and rising demand in the post-pandemic era. Founded by Riccardo Vittoria and Henry Chen Weinstein, Acai Travel builds upon the success of 30SecondsToFly, the co-founders’ previous venture, which was later acquired by American Express Global Business Travel. This new venture aims to modernize and simplify travel operations, particularly for travel agencies and travel management companies (TMCs) that face unique challenges in managing bookings, handling client queries, and optimizing processes.
Acai Travel’s AI-driven platform comes at a critical time for the travel industry. The pandemic not only caused a sharp decline in travel demand but also led to a significant talent drain as many trained travel agents left the sector. As travel demand rebounds to pre-pandemic levels, agencies are facing new challenges in terms of efficiency and profitability.
