HOLLYOAKS fans have been left absolutely fuming after the father of Leah’s baby has been revealed after the time jump, with many calling the storyline “an absolute shambles.” On today’s (Monday 23 September) episode, which is available on Channel 4 streaming ahead of its release on E4 at 7pm tonight, the soap confirmed the shocking parentage of Leah Barnes’ (Ela-May Demircan) son - and it’s not Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan). After an unprecedented one year time jump , the lives of the residents of the Chester village were looking very different.

Shockingly, Leah was revealed to be pregnant and in emotional scenes during the first episode of the new era, she delivered a baby boy with Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) by her side. It was initially thought that Charlie - who has disappeared from the soap much to viewers disapproval - was the father of the baby. But after weeks of speculation, suspicion fell on her half-brother’s boyfriend Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass).

Hollyoaks fans have been left furious by this latest development. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan fumed: “I feel so sick. I thought I was ready! I’m so scared.

” “I don’t really understand why Hollyoaks have tarnished a couple, especially when they told us they had a long-term future!? It’s a shame when fan favourite couples get together that the only story that rears its head is one cheating on the other.” While another pointed out this complete ruins Dillon and Lucas’ relationship and made him into “the worst kind of person.” “The assassination of Dillon Ray’s character should be studied,” another criticised.

A fifth fan agreed: “You’ve already made him cheat on his boyfriend that he claimed to have loved and now he’s not even gonna step up as a father? -100 points here.” Dillon’s concern over the baby’s wellbeing after he was born was what initially sparked suspicion. As viewers known, he is in a long-term relationship with Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis), who is currently in young offenders for attacking sex abuser JJ Osborne (Ryan Mulvey).

Fans were shocked to learn that after everything Dillon had been through with Lucas that he would cheat on him with anyone, let alone his sister. But it became clear that’s what happened after he expressed his unhappiness at Leah’s decision to keep the baby rather than putting him up for adoption. As Leah explained that her dad was going to help with care of the baby, Dillon exploded.

HOLLYOAKS beauty Chelsee Healey has dropped the biggest hint yet she's been axed from the soap - yet what's happening at the Channel 4 show? Earlier this year, the Channel 4 soap was forced to address the cull of cast members . It came after The Sun was first to report Hollyoaks bosses plan to kill off a whopping 20 cast members. Now Chelsee, who recently took time away from her role as Goldie McQueen to give birth to her second daughter, has now made a cryptic move on X.

The Manchester lass, 36, re-posted a picture of her character crying to her page. It came after Stephanie Waring, famed for her 28-year-long role as Cindy Cunningham, confirmed that soap bosses had axed her as part of the 20-person strong cast cull. Another big name set to quit for good is popstar turned soap star Jamelia.

The soap's resident hunk and TV favourite Owen Warner has also left the show amid the cuts with fans left devastated to say goodbye to his character Romeo Nightingale. Jamie Lomas has also quit the show and will depart his Warren Fox role soon. Haiesha Mistry famed for her role as Yasmine Maalik has also left after seven years.

"Leah, you can't be serious! Leah, he might be yours but he's also mine, too. And soon Lucas is going to be living under the same roof as him. "If Lucas ever finds out what we did I'll never forgive you," he tells her before storming out of the hospital.

The aftermath of the time jump has been one shock after another for Channel 4 fans. Other things that have changed include Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) having cancer, Cleo (Nadine Mulkerrin) being held captive by Abe Fielding (Tyler Conti) and Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) and Sienna Blake’s (Anna Passey) engagement. Hollyoaks airs tonight on E4 at 7pm and is available on Channel 4 streaming.
