January 1, 1982 - October 19, 2024 Coal Valley - Abigail Fawn Sims, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Coal Valley, Illinois, on Sunday, October 19, 2024. Born on January 1, 1982, in Princeton, Illinois, she was the first New Year Baby born in 5 counties, maybe more, in the state of Illinois. She was the cherished daughter of Dianne Lyn Nelson and Thomas Otto Park.
A proud graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 2000, Abigail married the love of her life, Phillip Matthew Sims, on September 25, 2012, in Princeton, they starting dating at the age of 15 and spent more than 27 years together. Throughout her life, Abigail worked at Harbor Freight and Econo Lodge in Princeton and dedicated herself to being a caretaker, always putting others first. Abigail was known for her incredible talent in home design, her passion for gardening, and her love for arts and crafts.
She found joy in creating beauty around her and shared her talents with those she loved. She also had a love for gardening, she visited many botanical gardens and had a true belief in holistic healing practices and loved to share her information with anyone interested. Abigail was a member of Niabi Zoo for years, she was a true animal lover and showed it in her support for various animal causes.
She was a long-standing member of the Rock Island Cons Club. Besides all the wonderful things in her life, nothing compared to her love of family. She is survived by her devoted.
