Yuva Sena, led by Aaditya Thackeray, retained all 10 seats in Mumbai University's senate elections for the graduate constituency. The election featured participation from ABVP and Chhatrabharti candidates. MUMBAI: It was a clean sweep for Aaditya Thackeray-led Yuva Sena again in Mumbai University 's senate elections for the graduate constituency on Friday.
Its candidates retained all the 10 seats, with at least two of them getting elected for a third term. The last election was held in 2018 when its parent organisation Shiv Sena was a single entity and BJP 's ally. In all, 28 candidates were in fray, including 10 from ABVP , affiliated to RSS.
While Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena did not field any candidate, one of its members contested as an independent. There were also 4 candidates from Chhatrabharti , another student organisation. Of the 13,406 electors, 55% voted.
The number of electors was lower compared to the past two elections - in 2010 and 2018. Speaking to media, Aaditya accused the govt of trying to obstruct the poll process, and said that the senate election "is just the beginning and MVA will also win" the assembly polls..
