Drivers are being warned about delays as part of the Heads of the Valleys road is closed all weekend. According to traffic monitoring systems, the A465 Heads of the valleys Road is closed in both directions between the A4059 Hirwaun Road (Hirwaun Roundabout, Hirwaun) and the A470 (Cefn Coed Roundabout, Cefn Coed). The roadworks are taking place until the early hours of Monday, July 29, with drivers told to expect delays in the area.

There are likely to be diversions in place. The roadworks are part of a huge £590 million plan to upgrade the A465 between Dowlais Top and Hirwain making the road two lanes in both directions. The project started in early 2021 and is not expected to be completed until 2025.
