By Kristi Palma A ski resort in Vermont is helping skiers and riders get the most out of their season by staying open long after winter ends, according to OnTheSnow.com. The website recently released a list of the best ski destinations in North America for spring skiing and included Killington in Vermont.
At Killington, skiers and riders are on the slopes until around Memorial Day weekend, wrote OnTheSnow. Killington has remained open until the first week of June during the past several seasons. “You can usually count on some corn snow fun on a sunny spring day after freezing temperatures the night before,” wrote the site.
Killington also offers a spring pass , good from March 15 through the last day of the season and valid at neighboring Pico. “If you’re lucky and time it just right, you may even be able to catch a spring powder day or two,” wrote OnTheSnow about spring skiing. “Just remember to layer up, and sunscreen up.
And, arrive as early as possible so you can get as much of the good snow as possible.” It’s a good idea to check Killington’s website before you go, since the spring terrain is more limited, wrote the site. Check out OnTheSnow’s list of the best ski destinations in North America for spring skiing .
