Heartfelt tributes have been paid to young Carlow girl Indie Mai Byrne, who tragically passed away on Monday, March 3. Indie Mai, from Blackbog Road, Carlow, was remembered as the "beloved and adored daughter of Caroline, cherished little sister of Ellie and Lia, much-loved granddaughter of Mickey Joe, Geraldine and Damian, and her best friend Paul," according to her death notice on RIP.ie .
The talented young athlete was a dedicated St Laurence O'Toole Athletics Club member, where she recently competed in the Leinster Juvenile Championships. Her club shared an emotional tribute, describing her as a "truly beautiful girl with a beaming smile". "It is with profound sadness that St.
Laurence O'Toole A.C. learned of the devastating news of the passing of our juvenile athlete Indie Mai Byrne, who has left us far too soon," the tribute began.
"Indie Mai was a much beloved member of the club, a truly beautiful girl with a beaming smile, who showed great talent, kindness and was so highly thought of by her coaches and her many friends here in the club, whom today are left with heavy hearts. "On behalf of everyone here in the club we would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to her mother Caroline, sisters Ellie and Lia, extended family and wide circle of friends, you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. "Indie Mai, you will be missed beyond measure, may your beautiful soul rest with the angels," it concluded.
