The father of 11-year-old Jack Davey, who died after a car careered into a Melbourne schoolyard, has posted a heartbreaking tribute to his son. “Our beautiful son. A shooting star who blessed us for 11 years with love, friendship and kindness,” Michael Davey wrote on Instagram.

Dad x” Jack, a year 5 student, died after a Toyota SUV performing a U-turn veered off Burgess Street in Hawthorn East and crashed through a school fence into a table of children on Tuesday afternoon. Three girls and a boy were also taken to hospital with serious injuries. One child has been discharged from hospital.
