I will go! --- Ti Moune, Once on this Island By Iane Macasieb Get ready to be transported to a magical land as the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Once on this Island , has just premiered on the Manila stage. Theatre fans will surely love this sweet treat as theatre company 9 Works Theatrical brings the classic tale of little girl Ti Moune and her journey of finding love in a world of prejudice, to Manila stage until September 29.



The story opens with Ti Moune, a young peasant orphan who was found and adopted by Tonton Julian and Mama Euralie. As she blossoms into a beautiful girl, she decides to embark on a quest to find her purpose in life and in the world while she also tries to capture the heart of Daniel, a wealthy young man from the other side of the island. It all unfolds lessons learned from a journey of family, life, and love.

The first viewing night of Once on this Island took place at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in the RCBC Plaza, Makati City on Friday, Sept. 6.

It was filled with theatre fans and supporters of the cast. Angela Ken and Thea Astley alternately take on the lead role of Ti Moune while Sam Concepcion and Jef Flores take the mantel of Daniel, and Shania Gomez and Krystal Kane act as Andrea. They are joined by Lorenz Martinez as Papa Ge, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez and Jasmine Fitzgerald as Erzulie, Raul Montesa and Noel Rayos as Tonton Julian, Lani Ligot as Mama Euralie, PJ Rebullida as Armand, Jonjon Martin, Sam Libao, Jordan Andrews, and Fay Castro as the Storytellers, and Bianca Estacio and Reese Iso as Little Ti Moune.

Once on this Island is presented under the direction of Robbie Guevara, which you can catch at the RCBC Plaza in Makati City until Sept. 29. Ticket prices range from ₱2,200 to ₱3,900 and are available via Ticket2Me.
