Grilled shrimp and grilled pork spring rolls from Tiger Pho in Baton Rouge. Even in the summer, I can't resist a bowl of pho. Yes, I am the type of person who drinks hot coffee in the summer, too.

For my first time at Tiger Pho, I tried the spring rolls for an appetizer and the brisket pho for my entree. Every ingredient shined in the spring rolls, which featured grilled shrimp, grilled pork, vermicelli noodles, lettuce and cilantro rolled in rice paper and served with a side of pickled cabbage, carrots and homemade peanut sauce. While the flavors were truly delicious, I wish the spring rolls were rolled a little tighter.

If you're an avid reader of "Best things we ate this week," this entry may ring a bell. It's been a while, but we've mentioned it before — it's just that good.

If I was lucky enough to eat it every week, it would always be on my list of "best things I ate this week." When anyone asks what my favorite salad is in the area, I always mention this one. (I also love Cocha's beet and burrata salad, for the record.
