Prayagraj: Cops on Monday claimed to have arrested eight persons in connection with killing of two persons during wedding ceremony in Pratapgarh district. The arrested persons, identified as Sahdev Verma (23), Rahul Verma (22), Sandeep Verma (19), Ashish Verma, Shani Verma (23), Vijay Verma (24), Virendra Verma (20), and Kishan Verma (21), were residents of Leelapur. Cops also recovered three bamboo sticks and a sharp-edged weapon from their possession.
Two persons were beaten to death while one sustained injury in a clash between two groups during a wedding ceremony in Chakodia village of Pratapgarh district late on Saturday. The deceased, Pawandeep Singh (22) and Indrapreet Singh alias Jot (32), were residents of Sultanpur in UP and Jalandhar in Punjab, respectively. Vishal, a 25-year-old man from Jalandhar, who sustained injury in the clash, was admitted to Pratapgarh district hospital.
