Vadodara: Food sfety teams of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) started a drive to check samples of prepared food items and raw materials across the city. A large stock of food items was seized during the drive. The drive was conducted in Hathikhana, Ajwa Road, Gorwa, Mandvi, and other areas from Wednesday.
Officials seized 5,787kg of material worth Rs 11.56 lakh during the drive. Teams of the civic body also collected 13 samples of raw material and mouth fresheners for analysis.
These were sent to the public health laboratory of the civic body. Food business operators in the state have been asked to adhere to the rules and maintain hygienic conditions in light of the festival season..
