The Undertaker is one of the most prominent wrestlers in WWE and despite having retired from the world of professional wrestling, he’s still someone who’s highly respected by athletes throughout the world. He’s been associated with the company for many years at this point, and over the years, he’s had several gimmicks that he adopted as his persona. Although most of his gimmicks were dark and brooding, they were always fun to watch and sent a chill down the spine of every fan on a global level.

This is probably one of the most short-lived gimmicks in the world of professional wrestling. During this gimmick, Taker aligned himself with Ric Flair and Evolution, and would do anything to win, including cheat during matches. While the gimmick itself was very brief, it yielded some beautiful matches and very intriguing storylines.

Being associated with Ric Flair gave a new angle to his character, but didn’t take away anything from him. In terms of popularity and duration, The Deadman gimmick has been Undertaker’s longest running gimmick in and his most mesmerizing one so far. The entrance theme was eerie and very creepy which added a different aura to his already mysterious personality.

Given how well it was designed, it’s no surprise that this was the most popular gimmick of his. Unlike the rest of his gimmicks in the WWE, The American Badass was something that wasn’t dark at all. Instead it was replaced by a bike riding, aggressive persona who could beat the living daylights out of his opponents.

Not only was this gimmick designed to cover up some of his injuries, it was also done as a nod to the long-standing popularity of motorcycle clubs. It was a very radical shift in his personality, but was one of the most loved gimmicks that the WWE has put out so far. This gimmick saw a complete satanic shift in The Undertaker’s persona.

Not only did his aura get more eerie, the entire gimmick was coupled with a lot of weird rituals which gave him a low-key demonic appearance. During this gimmick, he feuded with Mankind, a character known for brutal matches. During their feud, he had a very brutal match with Mankind which involved throwing the latter through a steel cage during the Hell in a Cell match up.

Of all the gimmicks that he has had in the WWE, The Ministry of Darkness gimmick is the only one where he’s had other people join his cult. The Ministry of Darkness was a stable that The Undertaker had started, and although it lived for a short period of time, it was immensely popular amongst the crowd and included characters like Paul Bearer, Edge, Christian and Gangrel. Over the years, The Undertaker has had a lot of interesting gimmicks unlike any other wrestler in the history of professional wrestling.

Although it’s unlikely that he’ll return to the ring again, fans would love to see The Deadman enter the arena once more. Also read: The Undertaker reveals the backstory of his infamous ‘Rolling Eyes’ move.
