Hisar: The police have registered a cheating case against four men, including a Karnal advocate, for allegedly taking Rs 60 lakh from a man on the pretext of sending him to America , but instead sending him to Russia , Dubai and Africa. The accused have been identified as complainant’s uncle advocate Mahender Singh, a resident of Madhuban, Karnal; Shiv Kumar Kadian, a resident of Jhanjeri village; Sant Singh Bhukkal, a resident of Gaonri Kalan village; and Vishal Kumar, a resident of Ganda Nala Mughal, Karnal. As per the complainant, Ajit Chauhan, a resident of Landhri village, when he told his uncle Mahender that he is unemployed, the latter arranged for him to speak with Shiv Kumar, Sant Singh and Vishal.

Mahender claimed that these individuals were agents who specialised in helping unemployed people secure jobs abroad and arrange visas for them. Ajit said: “When I talked to the said people, they demanded Rs 60 lakh in the name of sending me to America, and assured that I would earn Rs 8-10 lakh in a month there. My father sold a plot and gave Rs 34 lakh to Mahender and his wife Reshma in Oct 2023.



Later, Rs 26 lakh were transferred to the account of the remaining accused. In Dec 2023, the accused sent me to Russia instead of America. However, when I asked them to return the money, they sent me to Dubai on March 7, thereafter, Africa on March 17.

I came back to Delhi on March 18.” A case has been registered against the accused under section 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of Indian Penal Code at Agroha police station.
