The KSRTC has been given permission to set up its scrapping unit at any of its depots with available land. The commercial viability of the project will be a key factor when KSRTC ventures into the new business.

The HC, in its order, has directed the govt to follow rules and procedures strictly and ensure a level playing field for all players competent and interested in setting up and operating the registered vehicle scrapping units by strictly adhering to the conditions laid down by the Union ministry of road transport and highways.
