Pune: The Hadapsar police detained two minors (both 16 years old) and are searching for their aide for robbing two cellphones worth Rs15,000 from two men at the point of sharp weapons in Phursungi around 5.15am on Saturday. The jobless teenagers are school dropouts.

They were driving a stolen motorcycle at the time of the incident and carrying billhooks, the police said. They allegedly threatened their victims into submission before taking away their cellphones. One of the victims, Jagdish Pawar (27) of Phursungi, lodged a complaint with the police.



The statement of the other victim has also been recorded. Sub-inspector Vinod Pawar of the Hadapsar police said, "Pawar is a car driver. He was walking to his employer's place while speaking on the phone when the three teenagers, riding triple-seat, waylaid him.

They threatened him with a billhook and robbed his cellphone. The trio then drove ahead and robbed the mobile handset of a youngster. The three teenagers did not assault their victims.

" A police patrol team, on being alerted about the incidents, spotted two of the teenagers at Shivshakti Chowk on Phursungi Road and nabbed them. The duo could not produce the bike's documents before the policemen. Later, the police confirmed that they had stolen it on Tuesday from Hadapsar.
