If you've been feeling like you got that Game of Thrones feeling back with House of the Dragon , what are you going to do with your Sunday nights when season 2 is over? Here are some shows like House of the Dragon to occupy you while we wait for the further adventures of Team Green, Team Black, and all of those fire-breathing beasties. There are a couple of different routes to go with this – which kind of makes it more fun, in my humble opinion. The obvious is to find another fantasy show—the more swords and dirt the better.
House of the Dragon does have, obviously, dragons and a little bit of magic—but it and Game of Thrones are not what I would consider hard fantasy. They're pretty light on the supernatural. You don't need to learn a ton about talking animals, fairies, magic spells, or alternate dimensions to follow along.
You mostly need to learn names, relationships, and family drama. It's just like any other show about rich people and/or royalty. Why not get into one of those types of shows next? When looking for a show to fill the dragon-sized hole in your heart between seasons of House of the Dragon it's fine to step in and out of the fantasy box.
