The updated Skoda Octavia liftback and wagon are now on sale in Australia, and they’re arriving at a reduced or identical price to their predecessors despite boasting more features. Skoda revealed its mid-life facelift to the fourth-generation Octavia in February, and it’s the new Select variant which has the honours of being the first in showrooms. A replacement for the old Style grade, the Skoda Octavia Select will start from $41,490 drive-away in liftback guise, or $43,990 drive-away for the roomier wagon.

Visual tweaks to the Octavia include new-look LED headlights – with the portion closest to the grille now extended downwards – which incorporate an inverted daytime running light signature.
The side and lower portions of the front bumper are now more angular, with the honeycomb-patterned radiator cover extending further towards the wheel arches. Inside, the 10.0-inch infotainment touchscreen has been replaced by a larger 13.
