CLEVELAND — It's a big morning for music as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland has unleashed the list of performers who are nominated for induction with the class of 2025. So who made the list? Some of the names include Chubby Checker, Billy Idol, The Black Crowes, Joe Cocker and many more. CLICK HERE to see the full list with our in-depth coverage.

The Rock Hall announced the 2025 nominees at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

See the full list dating back to the first induction in 1986 The Rock Hall says artists or bands become eligible for nomination 25 years after releasing their first commercial recording. Nominee ballots are then distributed to an international voting panel composed of more than 1,200 artists, historians and music industry professionals who determine the class of 2025. "The selection criteria include an artist’s impact on music culture, influence on other musicians that have followed, as well as the scope and longevity of their career and body of work," according to the Rock Hall.

Those ultimately chosen for induction will be revealed later this year. A look back at Rock Hall history, the first induction ceremony happened nearly 40 years ago in 1986. That class included the following inductees.
