Article content The latest-generation Nissan Frontier faces near-insurmountable competition from the likes of the Ford Ranger , Toyota Tacoma , and the GM twins in the Colorado and Canyon. So strong is the opposition that this gen of Frontier, launched in 2022, is already on the receiving end of some important tweaks and changes for a second time. Yes, for the 2025 model year, updates to the Nissan Frontier include a refreshed design along with enhanced capabilities.

Key improvements include a more rugged front fascia, new PRO-4X wheels, and a striking Afterburn Orange paint option. The truck now offers increased towing capacity of up to 6,850 pounds; and the long-wheelbase configuration with a 6-foot bed is now available on the PRO-4X trims. On board, a larger 12.



3-inch touchscreen infotainment system now comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Comfort is enhanced with a standard telescopic steering wheel, two-way power lumbar support for the driver’s seat on SV grades and higher, and a four-way power passenger seat on SL grades and above. The updated Frontier gains more safety features such as the Intelligent Around View Monitor, which now works at higher speeds for better off-road confidence.

All grades include a standard sliding rear window and sunglasses holder. The truck also comes with an array of standard driver assistance technologies like Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The flagship Frontier PRO-4X trims, tailored for off-roading enthusiasts, continues to feature all-terrain tires, Bilstein suspension components, and an electronic locking differential.

The SL grade adds luxury with leather-appointed seating, a heated steering wheel, and a premium audio system. Although the Nissan Frontier lags in terms of powertrain technology with its old 3.8L V6, it must be said that engine looks to be the most reliable of the group, what with Toyota, specifically, experiencing a number of teething issues with its trucks of late .
