When is the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony? The event will take place on Sunday, August 11, from 9pm to 11:15pm local time, which is 11pm to 1:15am GST. Where will the ceremony take place? The event will be held at the Stade de France, which is the country’s national stadium. It has been transformed into a massive concert hall for the ceremony.



What can we expect from the closing ceremony? Titled ‘Records’, the event is set to be a spectacular show created by Thomas Jolly, the artistic director behind the epic opening ceremony. Expect to see over a 100 performers, acrobats, dancers, and circus artists, accompanied by an original soundtrack. As expected, musical performances by world-renowned artists will also grace the stage.

Similar to the opening ceremony, part of the show will take place in the air, while the bespoke sets, and costumes, and enchanting light effects will aims to take viewers on “a journey through time, both past and future.”This year’s closing ceremony will also feature traditional moments such as the flags of participating nations, the athletes’ parade, and the handover of the Olympic flag to the Los Angeles 2028 Organising Committee. By now, the rumors of Tom Cruise’s appearance at the closing ceremony have taken over the internet. According to reports, the 62-year-old star renowned for performing daring stunts will signify the handing over of the flag by aiming to rappel 42 meters from the roof of the Stade de France during the ceremony. After the hair-raising act, the event will play pre-recorded footage of Cruise zooming through the famous streets of Paris on a motorbike featuring a large Olympic flag, before he jets off on a plane to California with it.

As he arrives, he is set to jump out of the plane Cruise-style, and skydive to the Hollywood sign, all while holding the Olympic flag that gets passed on to athletes around LA. Where to watch the closing ceremony? In the UAE, the event can be streamed via a Tod subscription. In the US, the ceremony will be broadcast by NBC with Jimmy Fallon and NBC sports reporter Mike Tirico co-hosting the coverage.
