2024 Logie Awards: Fans praise Sam Pang as he takes no prisoners while 'roasting' Channel Seven and celebrity guests in 'fearless' monologue: 'No one is safe!' READ MORE: LIVE: Loved-up Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart 'hard launch' their relationship at the 2024 Logie Awards By Kate Dennett For Daily Mail Australia Published: 11:40 BST, 18 August 2024 | Updated: 11:49 BST, 18 August 2024 e-mail View comments Sam Pang left viewers in stitches with his 'savage' opening monologue at the 2024 TV Week Logie Awards on Sunday night. The TV presenter, 50, took to the stage to host the awards ceremony for the second year running, after he was widely praised for his presenting at last year's event. And he certainly did not fail to disappoint as viewers applauded his 'fearless' monologue which saw him boldly take aim at Channel Seven.

Sam didn't hold back as he savagely roasted Seven for their spate of recent scandals, despite the fact the Logies are airing on the network. He also hit out at Network 10 and Married At First Sight in his take-no-prisoners monologue, before making jokes at the expense of Adam Lambert and LeAnn Rimes . Viewers were quick to take to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share their hysterical reactions, praising Sam for not shying away from roasting the high-profile guests.

Some fans even called for him to be given a Logie himself and urged other networks to sign him up to host all Australian awards shows as he won over the crowds. One wrote: 'Sam Pang is absolutely fearless,' while another said: 'No one is safe when Sam Pang is hosting. Poor Leann Rimes was going to cry.

. And I'm totally here for it.' Love him - 10/10,' and a fourth commented: 'Petition for Sam Pang to host all award shows.' 'Another great monologue from Sam Pang. He really is the master of walking that line between funny and offensive,' a fifth tweeted.

A sixth gushed: 'Sam Pang's roast was elite areas,' as another added: 'Someone give Sam Pang a Logie for that opening monologue.' Sam opened his monologue by savagely taking aim at Channel Seven, referencing their recent scandals as the crowds reacted with shocked gasps. 'Firstly, Channel 7, well, I'm just letting you all know I'm going to say whatever I want tonight,' he said as he kicked things off.

'I stand before you safe in the knowledge that whatever I say, this network will defend me in court, and with their impeccable record in defamation cases over the last 12 months I reckon I'll be fine.' Amid a string of jobs being cut at Seven, Sam then joked that he wasn't getting paid by the network for his hosting gig and said they would instead be paying his rent. 'Full disclosure - I'm not getting paid by Channel Seven tonight.

Instead, for the next 12 months, they're paying my rent,' he quipped. Which is handy as they'll know what address to send the Thai masseuse to.' Network Ten then came under fire as he referenced their difficult year, which has seen them axe shows including The Bachelor and The Masked Singer, with further fears arising about the future of free-to-air.

Sam then left the crowds in stitches with his MAFS joke as he quipped: 'Reality shows continue to thrive. One of the biggest shows sees contestants thrown together, isolated and willingly eating testicles and sometimes anus.

That’s right, Married At First Sight continues to go from strength to strength.' The Voice Australia's new judge LeAnn Rimes then took a hit as he commented that viewers would only know who she was from Googling 'Who is LeAnn Rimes?' Finally, the Gold Logie nominees became victims to the roasting as Sam picked them off one-by-one as he took no prisoners in the savage speech. He first told Tony Armstrong 'this is what an audience looks like' before commenting that he was surprised to see Andy Lee's name on the Gold nominations list.

The radio host also quipped that it would be a well-deserved win for Robert Irwin after his 'long, hard eight months in the industry'. 2024 TV WEEK Logie Award WINNERS: Full list Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television Andy Lee, Entertainer and broadcaster Asher Keddie, Actress Julia Morris, Presenter and comedian Larry Emdur, Entertainer and presenter Robert Irwin, Presenter Sonia Kruger, Entertainer and presenter Tony Armstrong, Presenter and broadcaster Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter Hamish Blake, Lego Masters Australia, 9Network Julia Morris, I’m A Celebrity ..
