When KIA enters Grasso’s Garage, it’s all about pricing, style, and comfort. With the EV market in full force, the EV9 was released to satisfy consumers with big families looking for space and storage. Although our EV9 GT-Line AWD tester is really a great vehicle overall, the price tag serves as the pink elephant in the room.

With a base price of just under $74K, our long range tester boasted 280 miles on a full charge, and had plenty of pep in its step. As most EV’s, the instant torque provides great acceleration and decent range for the 7-seater all-wheel drive SUV. While managing to be over 5,000 pounds, the EV9 platform shares with sister-brand, Hyundai and their popular EV, the IONIQ6.

Our Ocean Blue GT-Line AWD tester boasted all of the EV9 standard features and added 21-inch alloy wheels, heads-up display, increased towing capacity, self-leveling rear suspension, remote smart parking. Also, for an additional $2K, we witnessed the GT-Line 2nd row relaxation package, which included 2nd row power seats, with leg support; a must for 2nd row adults traveling! The dual 12.3 inch panoramic display with display was standard and easy to use and very clear to see for all ages.

Dual Sunroofs, Smart Power liftgate and an array of safety features were also standard. For KIA, the EV9 is going to be a homerun in both the consumer satisfaction and bottom line profit category. While it is very comfortable, spacious and stylish, the storage room is what sets it apart from the rest.

But with a mid-to-high $70K price range, the EV9 could price out current Telluride owners looking to go all-electric. Grasso’s Garage is here for you! Looking for more auto reviews or are you in the market for a new car? Head to https://www.bostonherald.
