More than 200 people attended a fundraiser dinner organised in collaboration with Samson Lee Fiji, Sheraton Fiji Golf and Resort, and Rosie Events held on Saturday at Sheraton’s Denarau Island Convention Center with the aim to raise funds to support individuals living with cancer in the West. Leading fashion designer in the country, Samson Lee who also lost his sister due to cancer, said cancer awareness always held a great importance in his life. “This one is so important for me, as I normally do charity events every year but this one holds a special place in my heart, as my sister passed away from cancer,” he said.

Mr Lee said every year on the month of October, he would give back to charity. “Cancer is something that is very dear to me.” He said the huge turnout was great to see as a lot of people genuinely had a heart for the noble cause.

Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay general manager Silvano Dressino said the event was wonderful partnership for a great cause to support cancer patients in the West. “Since Marriott celebrates Pinktober and has a long history of doing good and serving to communities, so it was a absolute pleasure for us to provide this venue and we are pleased with the outcome as the proceeds will go towards these cancer patients,” added Mr Dressino..
