Prayagraj : Around 20% of the total 22,872 aspirants skipped the Uttar Pradesh police constable recruitment exam held at 63 examination centres across the district amidst tight security on Saturday, the second day of the five-day exercise. "The second day exams were conducted in a smooth manner. Senior police officials, including police commissioner and DCPs (city, Ganga Nagar and Yamuna Nagar) inspected most centres to maintain transparency of the exams," said DCP (protocol) and nodal officer Ashutosh Dwivedi while talking to TOI.

He said around 80% of candidates appeared in the exams. On the second day, cops strictly frisked and checked all aspirants at the entrance gates of the centres. The DCP said the entire exam was conducted under CCTV lens, as per the SOP (standard operating procedure), and adequate police forces, including women cops, were deployed at all centres.



Also, a team was deputed at the control room to check CCTV monitoring of all centres at Reserve police lines. Police arrangements were also made at all major bus and railway stations to check chaos. Now the exams will be held on Aug 25, 30, and 31.
