Prayagraj: Around 20 percent of the total 22,872 aspirants skipped the Uttar Pradesh police constable recruitment exam held at 63 examination centres across the Prayagraj district amidst tight security surveillance on Friday. Friday was the second last day of the five-day exercise, and Saturday will be the last day of the exams. “Senior police officials, including the commissioner of police (Prayagraj), inspected and checked the majority of examination centres, including KP Inter College, CAV Inter College, Jagat Taran Girls Inter College, Mary Wanamaker Girls Intermediate College, and others to maintain transparency of the exams and also inspected security arrangements in both shifts,” said DCP (Protocol) and nodal officer Ashutosh Dwivedi while talking to TOI.

He, however, said, “Around 20 percent of aspirants were found absent in the exams.” The exams for UP police constable recruitment were earlier held on August 23, 24, and 25 in two shifts. On Friday, the exams were conducted amidst tight security and surveillance, and cops strictly frisked and checked each and every aspirant at the entrance gate of the centre.



The DCP, meanwhile, said that the entire exam was conducted under CCTV surveillance, as per the SOP (standard operating procedure), and adequate police forces, including women cops, were deployed at all 63 exam centres . Meanwhile, a team of cops was deputed at the control room to check CCTV monitoring of all centres at Reserve Police Lines. Police arrangements were also made at all major bus stands and railway stations to check chaos.

After holding the August 23, 24, 25, and 30 exams, the last exam date will be held on Saturday as per the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.
