A 12-year-old Porterville native who loves soccer teamed with a U.S. professional soccer player to make a video on the importance of mental health in sports.
Now the 12-year-old girl has been nominated for international awards. Taylor Mendoza is a finalist for three Shorty Impact Awards as part of her work on a video with Sophia Smith, a professional soccer player and U.S.
Women's National Team member. Smith scored three goals in the 2024 Olympics to help lead the U.S.
