Twelve independent coffee shops in Cork city are staying open late for a range of free events next week, with some of the city's favourite cafes taking part. It's part of the new Coffee House Lates initiative from the Cork Business Association - encouraging coffee shops to stay open into the night to serve as vibrant alcohol-free alternatives to pubs and keep cafe culture alive after dark. Events next week include live music, art exhibitions, a craft fair and lots of free coffee.
Here are the cafes taking part: Old Town Taqueria Café - 5pm-1am, Friday 29th November The Old Town Taqueria Café on Pembroke Street is making its grand debut with a grand opening features plenty of Mahers coffee, Mexican snacks, and complimentary churros and light bites. Nádúr Deli - 6pm-9pm Thursday 28th November Nádúr Deli is on the plaza of Nano Nagle Place. For one special evening, they’re staying open late to host a festive experience with live jazz music from Jonathon Murray, a ferments demo from Ivo from Terra Ignis and complementary spiced mulled apple.
Cafe Moly - 6-9pm Thursday 28th November Cafe Moly is a loved speciality coffee micro-roastery and cafe on Douglas Street. They are doing a special taster night of coffees from around the world. Each customer will be treated to four complimentary taster cups.
Filter - 6-9pm Thursday 28th November Filter Espresso and Brew Bar on George’s Quay will launch a new art exhibition with Silvo Severino, a South Brazilian living in Cork.
