Kellie Harrington made history taking home another gold for Ireland. England's Keely Hodgkinson finally broke her streak of silvers and took home gold in the 800m. America's Simone Biles made a triumphant comeback taking Team USA to gold in gymnastics.

But for many of us, it's actually those delightful little moments in between all of the diving, jumping, flipping, climbing and sprinting that really make the Games such a joy to watch. The first week of the Olympics was filled with unforgettable non-sporting moments: Snoop Dog wore an iconic Simone Biles shirt; a guy named Bob dove into the Olympic pool to retrieve a wayward swim cap; Tom Daley's son threw a juice box at him! Well, another week filled with running, jumping, and, of course, a few more viral moments, has now flown by – and here are a few of the things that happened in between all of the sports. After Spendolini-Sirieix placed in a disappointing sixth place in the 10m platform final, Sirieix was there to comfort her. The beautiful moment was caught live on air.

"It's sport. Some days you win and some days you lose. And yesterday you did brilliant," he said before giving her a hug.

Kellie Harrington sings Grace After boxer Kellie Harrington won gold, she did what any proud Irishwoman would – she led the Irish fans in the crowd in a rendition of Grace . We've all been in a pub to watch a sporting event where the volume just isn't loud enough to hear the commentary.

Usually, it doesn't really make a big difference. However, it's a different story when it comes to Timmy McCarthy, the Cork-native who has been offering his endlessly entertaining commentary on RTÉ's basketball coverage. It's safe to say that many are tuning in just to hear his exuberant delivery of phrases like "boom shakalaka" and "Downtown!" His excitement and joy are infectious.

OK, so this one is a sporting moment but it’s worth including for its internet-breaking (if not record-breaking) power. The rules of pole vault are pretty simple: run, plant your pole, ricochet yourself into the air and over a bar without knocking it down with any part of your body – any part. Usually it's a tap of the elbow or a skim of the knee that sends the bar toppling down to the mat with the vaulter.

However, while attempting to clear a height of 5.70m, France's Anthony Ammirati knocked down the bar with a different, rather unfortunate body part. Captured in a photo that quickly spread far and wide across the internet, Ammirati brought down the bar with.

.. how to put this delicately.

.. his bulge? His manhood? Yes, much to the delight of basically everyone (except perhaps Ammirati and his team), his penis very visibly caught on the bar.
