Representarive image PRAYAGRAJ : A middle-aged man died, and two others were critically injured in a road accident when they were hit by a speeding DCM truck near Chandwari turn under the limits of Sandipan Ghat police station of Kaushambi district on Wednesday. An FIR under sections 281, 106, and 125 A and B of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita has been registered in this connection. Police, however, said that the incident took place when an out-of-control DCM truck rammed into a roadside barber shop and left a 55-year-old man, identified as Rajesh Kumar , dead on the spot.

Two other injured, identified as Bharat and Anokhe, residents of Kaushambi, were admitted to the district hospital for treatment where their condition was stated to be stable. The DCM was on its way to Mooratganj from Prayagraj when the incident took place. Police said that three persons had arrived at the barber shop for shaving, and one of them – sitting on the shaving chair – was badly hit by the speeding vehicle.



Following the incident, irate locals blocked vehicular movement on Kanpur – Prayagraj highway for around half an hour and shouted slogans. Upon being alerted, senior police officials along with forces rushed to the spot and managed to pacify the agitating villagers. The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem .
