YouTuber Ed Chapman has a very clear verdict on Tom' Kerridge's luxury fish and chips. Foodie Ed reviewed the celebrity chef's offering from within Harrods in London, an opulent location to match the hefty price tag. And Ed had a brutally honest six-word review for the food he tried.
"Just go to a proper chippy ," he advised. "Don't, whatever you do, be tempted by Tom Kerridge's version." Kerridge's Fish and Chips has been criticised for its pricey menu before, but the man himself has hit back.
Tom claims that the high-quality produce used in the menu is reflected in the prices, which he says he is not personally responsible for. His eatery is a far cry from your typical fish and chip shop, nestled in one of the UK's most upscale department stores. But Ed's dismal first impression stuck around, as he admitted he expected the food to be "bad value for money".
He claimed: "One thing I will say about the fish is the batter doesn't look that crispy." The meal came with an assortment of sauces, including tartare and ketchup and featured a portion of eight thick-cut chips alongside the fish. As Ed finished his meal, he concluded: "That was quite possibly the worst fish and chips I've ever had.
" Ignoring the exorbitant cost, Ed expressed that the meal was a letdown and suggested he would have returned it if he wasn't filming the experience for his YouTube channel. "I'm almost speechless how bad that was," he expressed. "I expected it to be bad value for money .
.. I didn't quite expe.
