One of Nigeria’s leading medical laboratory services, SYNLAB, has urged public health experts and healthcare investors to explore innovative strategies for overcoming barriers to healthcare access in Nigeria. Hence, the firm and leading experts have proffered solutions for expanding access to convenient healthcare service delivery in Nigeria. Speaking at a recent virtual conference organised by SYNLAB, Public Health Specialist and Epidemiologist at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Dr Bisola Adebayo, spoke on “Tackling Social and Community Barriers to Healthcare Access,” underscoring the need to strengthen monitoring and evaluation frameworks for effectively assessing healthcare access initiatives.

She called for the active participation of community leaders in healthcare delivery and stressed the need for comprehensive health literacy programmes to empower citizens. Dr. Adebayo also urged health professionals to leverage digital platforms to provide accurate and quality health information.
