The maiden East v West women’s T20 championship concluded in thrilling fashion last Saturday showcasing the immense talent and potential of women’s cricket in Fiji. Played at the picturesque Denarau Oval, the tournament featured the runners-up and winners of the Suva and Nadi 2024/2025 T20 Women’s League. The championship match between the Nausori Majidez and Nadi Development was the highlight of the day.

Batting first, Nausori Majidez displayed a dominant performance, amassing an impressive total of 157 runs for three wickets. Silivia Kijiana dazzled with the bat, scoring 77 runs, while Mele Waqanisau supported with a solid 46 runs. Nadi’s Salome Wotta was the only bowler to strike, taking one wicket for 10 runs in her lone over.



Chasing the steep target, Nadi Development managed 95 runs for six wickets. Salome Wotta showcased her all-round abilities with 21 runs, and Selina Kotoisuva added 16 runs. However, Nausori Majidez’s bowling attack, led by Kara Vakuruivalu’s superb spell of three wickets for 21 runs in three overs, proved too strong for Nadi Development.

Nausori Majidez emerged victorious by a commanding 62 runs, claiming the title of the inaugural East vs West women’s T20 champions. The championship began with the runners-up challenge, where the Black Ducks overcame Saunivalu in a timed game. Saunivalu batted first, posting a modest total of 68 runs for 3 wickets with Maraia Driu top scoring with 17 runs, while Meredani Vuli contributed 12 runs.
