Around 10 a.m. yesterday morning, a long queue had already formed around the block in New York’s buzzing SoHo shopping neighborhood.
“What is this line for?” intrigued New Yorkers asked as they walked by—afraid they were missing out on something good. Dedicated shoppers had arrived early (some as early as midnight) to claim their spot in line for the Vogue Vintage Market —a one-of-a-kind sale hosted by Vogue and Gigi Hadid, where fashion lovers had the opportunity to peruse and purchase rare designer finds at discounted prices. (Better yet, it was for a good cause, too: 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale benefit victims of the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
) Shortly before the doors at Roll & Hill opened, and the chaos and flurry of shoppers ensued inside, the line that snaked around the venue was a street style scene of its own. Shoppers came dressed to impress—wearing their favorite vintage pieces and dressing up for the occasion. Sisters Emily and Mary Lengyel, for one, had been in line since 8 a.
m., and scored a coveted spot near the front of the queue. “I heard about it on TikTok, and I was not going to miss this,” says Emily of the sale.
Emily had her sights set on scoring a pair of Chanel heels, while sister Mary was hoping for a Chloé bag. “We love shopping together,” says Mary. “She’s the only one I listen to for fashion.
” Maxx Evan, who is studying fashion history, was hoping to find some vintage Prada inside. Cheyenne Grenaway atte.
