Southfield will host a series of events in February to celebrate Black History Month. A kickoff event featuring musical performances, a panel discussion and opportunities to support Black-owned businesses will be held from 4-8 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 1, in the Southfield Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen Road. Admission is free.
A free Walk Through History display will be up from Feb. 1-28 in the pavilion, featuring well-known and lesser-known influential African-Americans in Southfield and world history. A Hustle & Flow party will be held from 7-10 p.
m. Feb. 8.
In the pavilion. The night kicks off with Alex Goss and the Detroit Soul Rhythm Band. The party will also feature DJ DeezyD, who will play classics and modern hits.

This event is for ages 18 and over only. You can experience the incredible journeys of Harriet Tubman, who led slaves to freedom on the Underground Railroad, brought to life by Leslie McCurdy. Her one-woman show will take place Feb.

Admission is free. The Secret Society of Twisted Story Tellers will return to the Southfield Pavilion Feb. 21, beginning at 6 p.
m. Hosted by Satori Shakoor, the evening will feature inspiring stories from Clint Walker, Bernedette Atuane.
