Princess Diana 's childhood home will not go to either of her children, Prince William or Prince Harry , as one might think, but instead, to her nephew, Louis Spencer. Despite having three older sisters, Louis, 30, as Viscount Althorp, will inherit the estate due to the system of primogeniture prevalent in the aristocracy. This system dictates that titles are transferred to the eldest son, not the firstborn child, reports Daily Express UK.

Prince Harry's UK base for private trip home exposed as he reunites with William Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer's grave admission 27 years after death Born in 1994, Louis is the eldest son of Charles Spencer and his first wife, Victoria Lockwood. As the heir apparent, Louis is next in line to become the 10th Earl Spencer, a title that comes with the duty of overseeing the Althorp Estate. Althorp Estate, where Diana spent her childhood, also serves as her final resting place.

Over the years, Althorp has been meticulously preserved and continues to represent the Spencer family's legacy. This sprawling estate, covering over 13,000 acres, has been the ancestral home of the Spencer family for more than five centuries. Hence, the property will be passed on to their cousin Louis, son of Earl Spencer, Diana 's brother.
