Takumi Katsuda has been named the Big Sky Conference's tennis player of the week, following a 2-0 weekend for Northern Arizona to open the season in Flagstaff. Northern Arizona beat both Air Force and UC Riverside, and Katsuda showed out for the Lumberjack in his regular-season debut, going 4-0 in singles and doubles play while clinching both the doubles point with partner Ivan Perisic in a 7-6 (4) final. He went on to clinch the match with his singles victory in comeback fashion, taking down Air Force's Langdon Tingleaf, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
