The 65-year-old who hosts a daytime talk show on ITV, visited the south Buckinghamshire branch of Bonmarché in the Eden Centre on Friday, March 28. The visit came eight days after the store officially opened in the town following months of preparations. During the visit, Bourne End-based Lorraine spoke with fans, signed autographs and showed off her own collection in-store.
One fan, Alexander Lewis was in the area as he was due to complete a shift at a nearby charity that morning and shocked the star by bringing along her book. The staff at Bonmarche had the bucks fizz ready as we were all waiting to meet her.
"As we got up there she was all smiles as if you were friends with her. "I saw that the event was happening as they got the shop ready to be open, as there was a huge placard with her face on showcasing the event, I thought to myself I'll have to meet her - the Queen of Daytime TV herself. "My encounter with her was lovely, she was shocked I brought her book as it only came out a week beforehand.
"She seemed so happy to sign her book. We had a brief conversation. Overall, it was lovely.
"I then saw her just as she was leaving with her husband Steve and her dog Angus. As they were walking through the Eden Centre, heads were turning as people realised who she was. "Overall, it was a positive experience.
