Late designer Rohit Bal’s Rs 18 crore estate has landed in dispute and a legal battle is ensuing between his step brothers and his friend for recognition and lawful rights. Bal’s will reportedly bequeath his entire estate to Tehlan, and the will has now been challenged by Rakesh Bal and Rajiv Bal. The case is due for hearing on February 4, when the court may issue a notice to Rakesh and Rajiv Bal.
Bal, one of India’s most celebrated fashion designers, died last year in November at a south Delhi hospital following a heart attack, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) president Sunil Sethi said. He was 63. Bal had been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Gurugram for cardiac issues in December last year.
