Back in 2016, musician, DJ and producer Daniel Goldstein (better known by the stage name Lane 8), made waves in the music industry with a concept tour named ‘This Never Happened’. The aim of the tour was to showcase live music how it used to be – no phones, no cameras, just real, emotional connection. “I realised that the growing presence of smartphones and cameras on the dance floor was having a really detrimental effect on the vibe and energy of my shows,” Goldstein says now, of his rather radical approach.
